Business Philosophy
Communication is the key to a good business relationship. We support your effort with sales forecasts, market surveys and trip reports. We believe in and work through written plans ourselves and will wholly support your needs at every level of planning, from account penetration through corporate strategic analysis.
Part of our business philosophy is to maintain a continuous rapport with key accounts in our territory. We have had great success in this, by matching the proper personalities with those of the account (select account coverage). In addition, this philosophy has kept each Sunland sales employee active in those accounts that tend to drive the industry. Thus, keeping all of them knowledgeable of current market needs, future trends and communicating these requirements to our principals.
We also believe in training. Sunland has quarterly sales meetings where technical discussions of new and existing products are held, customer problems analyzed and proper interface methods with each principal are reviewed. We also extend invitations for our distributors and principals to participate. The intent for these meetings is to provide everyone with a good working knowledge at the customer, principal and product level. Sunland also matches products with the salesmen's interests to provide a specialist within our sales team for each product. This allows us to technically support our own sales effort, sort of a self-contained or vertically integrated philosophy from a "Rep" standpoint.
We also provide our people the opportunity for professional training inside and outside our industry. They can upgrade computer skills at local universities, use the ERA (Electronic Representation Association) to increase their skill levels in sales and territory management and use the IPA (Institute for Professional Advancement) and obtain their certification as a manufacturer's representative. We currently have three CPMR's (Certified Professional Manufacturer's Representative) on staff who have completed the three year course.
Distribution is also extremely relevant to the way we conduct business. Our organization believes that identity must be kept with this marketing channel through constant contact, support and referral. We believe in conducting frequent sales meetings with franchised distributors at the local level. Our strength then, in this market place, is in our rep/distributor communication and face to face support.
Goals
With our charter defined and our business philosophy outlined, let us address goals, which like yours are not unique, but are in fact very basic.
Our intention is to work to our charter and continue to grow and maintain a dominance in sales representation for the Southeast. We want to fulfill our potential and hold a leadership position. To this end, continuous review of objectives is done for Sunland as a corporation, and individually with its employees, to insure that our overall goals are met. Consequently, with this routine as a common occurence, we all know what's expected and what action is necessary, every day, for the entire organization to succeed.
We have maintained our sales goals and have built a sales reputation as power, packaging, interconnect and systems control specialists since our inception. Our intentions are to sell these "four focused products" into all technologies (markets) in Florida and Puerto Rico.
